Reliance Flexibles required a solar solution for its rooftop project at Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. Waaree RTL installed a 700 kWp Flexible Solar system using 2,593 ultra-lightweight flexible modules (each 270 Wp). With its architectural compatibility and limited load-bearing capability, this rooftop installation is estimated to generate 920,000 units annually, resulting in approximately ₹92 lakh in annual cost savings. The project strikes an optimal balance between structural flexibility, aesthetic integration, and clean energy technology, transforming a technically demanding rooftop into a high-performance, sustainable power asset.
The curved surface of the rooftop offered no conventional mounting provision. Achieving visual consistency, module adhesion, and resistance to environmental forces such as wind uplift and temperature changes presented crucial challenges that called for specific, tailored installation techniques.
Waaree RTL was chosen by Reliance Flexibles for its capacity to provide innovative, structurally sensitive rooftop solar in terms of lightweight, flexible modules, coupled with expertise in aesthetic accuracy, custom installation, and ensured performance under demanding architectural conditions.
Waaree RTL designed a careful installation plan specific to the curved rooftop. Trained technicians performed several trial layouts and made use of a custom template along with spacing jigs to create symmetrical alignment. High-performance weather-resistant adhesives were specified by onsite testing, with long-lasting bonding without penetration into structural elements. Adhering strictly to OEM requirements for adhesive curing and load safety guarantees reliability. The flexible modules, weighing around 10 kg/m², did not need a mounting structure, thus eliminating roof damage or leakage. The system integrates seamlessly into complex roof geometries, featuring a sleek, low-profile design and glass-free durability. Impact, vibration, and corrosion-resistant, the installation requires minimal upkeep and is particularly ideal for unforgiving or damp environments. With these innovations, Waaree RTL transformed a structurally vulnerable rooftop into a productive clean energy resource without sacrificing roof integrity or design beauty.

The project effectively converted Reliance Flexibles' structurally restrained rooftop to a high-performing solar asset. It produces around 920,000 units every year, and with that, saves ₹92 lakh yearly. Through the utilisation of flexible modules that only place a 10 kg/m² load and avoiding the process of drilling or the use of mounting structures, the integrity and looks of the rooftop were maintained. This glass-free, low-maintenance solution is designed to withstand harsh and humid environments, offering architectural compatibility and durability. The installation demonstrated Waaree RTL's ability to overcome structural constraints while providing clean energy without requiring civil modifications. Ultimately, the system sets a new standard for rooftop solar technology by harmoniously combining aesthetic appeal, safety, and clean energy performance.
Reliance Flexibles achieved cost savings with a reliable, efficient, and design-friendly low-impact rooftop solar solution.
