Solar Panels

Capacity: 153.6 MW

Location: Puthiyamputhur, Ottapidaram, District Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu

Type of Project: Ground Mount Solar Power

Year Of Commissioning: 2024

Project Overview

Dalavaipuram Renewables Pvt Ltd (DRPL), a subsidiary of Continuum Green Energy, developed a 153.6 MW solar photovoltaic power plant located in Tamil Nadu’s Tuticorin district. The project forms part of the Dalavaipuram Hybrid Wind-Solar initiative, aimed at enhancing regional energy security through integrated renewable solutions.

Waaree RTL served as the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) partner with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and cost optimization. The plant now stands as a symbol of Tamil Nadu’s growing commitment to clean energy transition and hybrid power infrastructure.

Scope of the Project

End to End Engineering, Procurement and Construction was handled by Waaree team and successfully delivered within scheduled time. Advanced tracking and monitoring systems were incorporated in the project to maximize up time of the plant.

  1. Solar Modules: The project employs high-efficiency bifacial monocrystalline modules of 545Wp ratings, mounted on a fixed-tilt MMS system set at a 5° angle. The layout features a 28-module string configuration with a 7.5-meter pitch, strategically designed to minimize inter-row shading and optimize land utilization.
  2. Monitoring & Automation: An advanced Adaptive SCADA system enables real-time monitoring, remote diagnostics, and centralized control of generation data, significantly enhancing operational transparency and system responsiveness.

Performance and Sustainability

By adopting cutting-edge bifacial technology and streamlined design practices, the Dalavaipuram solar plant significantly boosts energy yield while ensuring long-term operational efficiency.

From a sustainability standpoint, this initiative contributes meaningfully to Tamil Nadu’s renewable energy capacity and supports India’s broader decarbonization goals. It reduces dependency on fossil fuels, offsets carbon emissions, and sets a benchmark for cost-effective, utility-scale hybrid energy projects in India.

 sustainable future.

Conclusion

The project was successfully commissioned on schedule, demonstrating Waaree RTL’s ability to deliver large-scale solar infrastructure with high precision and speed. Despite an emphasis on maintaining a low capital cost, the plant does not compromise on quality, safety, or performance standards.
