Capacity: 100 MW
Project Type – GROUND MOUNT SOLAR POWER PROJECT
Location: District Jamnagar, Gujarat
Year Of Commissioning: 2024
Project Overview
Waaree RTL executed the complete EPC work for the Morjar Renewables Pvt Ltd solar power plant, a 100 MW ground-mounted utility-scale installation located in the Kalavad region of Jamnagar, Gujarat. Commissioned to support India’s clean energy ambitions, the project is spread strategically across three separate locations, with a total capacity divided into five identical blocks each—ensuring operational efficiency and seamless scalability.
Scope of the Project
End to End Engineering, Procurement and Construction was handled by Waaree team and successfully delivered within scheduled time.
- Solar Modules: The plant utilizes Waaree 545 Wp bifacial half-cut monocrystalline modules, known for their superior energy yields and consistent performance. These bifacial modules capture solar energy from both sides, enhancing overall efficiency, especially on reflective surfaces.
- Inverter System: Advanced central inverters were deployed with 1500V DC design and three-level NPC topology, enabling high conversion efficiency and better thermal performance.
- Power Evacuation: The entire project is designed for 33kV evacuation using robust transformers, ensuring safe and reliable transmission of generated power to the grid.
Performance and Sustainability
The Morjar solar plant achieves an impressive performance ratio of 81.60%, generating approximately 160 million units of clean energy annually. This output is expected to offset nearly 131,200 metric tons of CO₂ emissions each year. To put this impact into perspective, it is equivalent to planting over 2.17 million trees, making a substantial contribution to India’s climate action targets and reinforcing global efforts toward a low-carbon, sustainable future.
Conclusion
By integrating high-efficiency bifacial modules, cutting-edge inverter technology, and robust engineering practices, Waaree RTL has helped Morjar Renewables achieve a resilient, future-ready solar infrastructure. This project not only showcases the potential of decentralized solar generation but also demonstrates how innovation-driven EPC execution can enable large-scale decarbonization in India’s power sector.
