Greenko

Greenko

Capacity: – 980 MW

Location – Andhra Pradesh

Type of Project: Floating Solar

Summary of the Project

The project in Andhra Pradesh stands as a landmark in renewable energy development, boasting an impressive installed capacity of 980 MW. Spread across 3,000 acres of challenging rocky terrain, the site has been transformed into a thriving green energy production hub. Equipped with 2,560 string inverters, a multi-circuit 33 KV transmission line, and 695 Wp N-type high-efficiency modules, the project exemplifies large-scale innovation in solar power deployment.

Challenges Faced

The execution of the Greenko project by Waaree RTL team was not without significant hurdles:

  1. Rocky Terrain – The vast site comprised predominantly hard rock, making excavation and installation difficult.
  2. Elevation Differences – Variations in land height posed engineering and alignment challenges for mounting structures.
  3. Soil Strata and Climatic Conditions – The harsh and variable local climate, along with mixed soil quality, demanded robust and adaptive design solutions.

Solutions Implemented

To overcome these barriers, a combination of safety, engineering expertise, and innovative design was employed:

  1. Enhanced Safety Measures – Special protocols were put in place to protect both manpower and equipment during construction on uneven and rocky surfaces.
  2. Specialized Sheet Rock Drilling – Advanced rock drilling and foundation techniques were used to securely mount solar structures on challenging terrain.
  3. Expert In-House Design – The project benefited from a dedicated design team adept at adapting to local conditions, ensuring optimal performance despite geographical constraints.

Impact of the Project

The transformation of barren, rocky wasteland into a high-capacity solar power generation hub is a testament to sustainable engineering and innovative problem-solving. The project not only generates clean energy but also sets a precedent for harnessing otherwise unusable land for large-scale renewable power generation. Its success reflects Waaree RTL team’s capability to tackle extreme site conditions while delivering on India’s renewable energy ambitions.
